Hyundai Releases Ioniq Pricing for the US: All-electric Model From Only $29,500

After keen interest in Korea and Europe last year, pricing for the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Electric is now available in the US. With a base price of just $29,500 USD (minus applicable incentives, plus $835 freight), it represents a very affordable green alternative to a conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle.  The Ioniq Electric poses a threat to other electric vehicles (EVs) such as the Nissan LEAF, Chevy Bolt, VW e-Golf and the upcoming Tesla Model 3. Tesla to Begin Short Pre-production Model 3 Run Towards the End of February

It’s both an exciting and stressful time for Tesla with the planned launch of its third-generation all-electric vehicle — the Model 3 — later this year. To ensure fruition, Tesla plans to halt regular production of the Model S and Model X at its Fremont factory towards the end of February with the aim of producing a small batch of Model 3s. Tesla Owners Can Now Access Real-time Supercharger Stall Availability

In an effort to curb Supercharger congestion, Tesla has activated a new feature on its in-vehicle map app that details Supercharger stall availability. As shown in Figure 1, this information is conveyed as text above the idle fee (4 of 12 stalls available in this instance) and also as a “full meter” (red bar below the navigate button).
