On March 6, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced an ambitious $4.8 million electric vehicle (EV) campaign in support of the ChargeNY initiative which began in 2013. The new campaign aims to install 450 EV charging stations across New York State and put more EVs on the road through incentives, public education and outreach. A new app by the name of EValuation can help you decide if ditching your gas guzzler for an electric vehicle (EV) or hybrid is the right move. Many people are hesitant to buy an EV due to concerns over range (i.e. how far it can be driven between charges). These concerns are unfounded. The Chevy Bolt EV has a range of 238 miles (383 km) while the Tesla Model S 100D offers around 335 miles (539 km). ChargePoint Raises $82M Towards European EV Charging Network — Investment Led by Daimler

On March 2, electric vehicle charging provider ChargePoint announced that it has raised $82 million USD in its latest funding round. This investment is led by Daimler AG and also includes BMW i Ventures, Linse Capital, Rho Capital Partners and Braemar Energy Ventures. ChargePoint will use the money to support the expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) charging network into Europe. Thanks to generous purchasing incentives available in over 20 countries, Europe is the world’s second-largest EV market. Europe’s EV charging network must continue to grow in order to support the uptake of EVs in the region.
